Jean-François Lézé was born in 1971. He follows his training as percussionist and pianist at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon with François Dupin, Georges Van Gucht, and Roger Muraro.
Alongside his work as orchestra percussionist with the Lyon National Orchestra, the orchestra of the Opéra de Lyon and Montpellier Philharmonic Orchestra, he specializes in chamber music with the Soloists of Moscow and Yuri Bashmet.
Solo timpanist of the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra and professor at the Institute of National Academy Orchestra, he founded the trio Blue Nova where he developed the composition, piano, vibraphone and jazz with which he performs many concerts in Portugal.
He is currently solo timpanist of the National Orchestra of Porto and performed as soloist and in chamber music.
