Christian HAMOUY was born on 27 August 1955 in Angoulême.
In 1970 he obtained first prize in piano and music theory from the Conservatoire National de Region de Bordeaux, and in 1976 first prize in percussion at the Conservatoire National de Région de Boulogne in the class of Michel CALS. Meanwhile, he participated in the concerts by the Orchestra of Bordeaux-Aquitaine directed by R. BENZI.
He founded the Young Soloists Ensemble of Aquitaine and the percussion group: PERCUSSIS.
Soloist with Percussions de Strasbourg from 1983 to 1996, he became the musical director of this legendary ensemble.
Fascinated by the work of today's composers , ihe creates the TETRA quartet (2 pianos, 2 percussion) and will perform alongside a duet with the accordionist P. CONTET. Among his performances as a soloist, he collaborated with the Ensemble Vocal and Instrumental Musicatreize with CONTEMPORARY CHOIR OF AIX-EN-PROVENCE, directed by R. Hayrabedian and Telemaque Instrumental Ensemble, directed by R. LAY.

Very attracted to teaching, he obtained the Certificate of Aptitud, and teach pedagogy PERCUSTRA in France and abroad.
He taught for 9 years alongside F. Dupin and G. VAN GUCHT at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon. He hosts Masters-Class in France and abroad and participates in national and international jury.
Christian HAMOUY currently teaches at the Academy of Music Prince Rainier III of Monaco.
